Susan Gainer, owner of Bamboo Guru, opened this unique landscaping company almost a decade ago. Her educational background and in-the-field experience has helped her create a unique business designing harmonious outdoor spaces.

Susan left New Hampshire to attend Evergreen State College in 1994. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she moved to Seattle and attended the Horticulture Program at Lake Washington Technical College. While going to school, she worked for Bamboo Gardens of Washington. After completing the program, she opened her own business, Bamboo Guru, in 1998. This company has made it’s mark in a variety of landscapes in Seattle and the surrounding area.

Bamboo Guru was awarded the Silver medal at the 2005 Northwest Flower and Garden Show for Susan’s display garden entitled “Backyard Bamboo Oasis”.
